UNION

I miss Paso!

I know that statement says it all, but in case you may have been living under the proverbial rock, Paso was [sic] the Memorial Day weekend gathering of Hot Rods, Customs, Bobbers and Choppers to the small, coastal town of Paso Robles, California. The crew at West Coast Kustoms put on what had to be the best three day show on Earth.

Paso Robles hadn't changed much since the city was incorporated in 1889. Complete with a Main Street and Town Square, Paso was the perfect setting for any history enthusiast. You could walk around the town all weekend and spot new cars, bikes and friends you may only see during that weekend because they've traveled hundreds or even thousands of miles to be a part of it all.

With the great bars, restaurants, cafes, hotels, motels, antique shops, the infamous bowling alley or even the old Foster's Freeze, there was ALWAYS something going on. How many times did you or a friend say, "I'm trying to get it done for Paso...?"

Unfortunately, the monsters known as politics and capitalism reared their extremely ugly heads and killed the town and it's inhabitants in one fell swoop of their mighty Mont Blanc tails.

But have no fear, for the Union is near.

The Panel Beaters CC of Southern California is aiming to bring the "Paso experience" back to the coast. This time we're riding into the town of Los Alamos this May 24 through the 26th. The Union Hotel And Saloon has graciously opened the entire hotel for us and ANYONE else who may want a room there, at a good price. It's a great ole' place built in the mid 1800s... cowboy style! Hurry though, the rooms are going fast.

Los Alamos is the perfect one stoplight town to recapture the essence of Paso's atmosphere. It's gonna be a blast.

See you there!
